Consider taking private classes. You will get quicker and better results. Private instruction focuses soley on your particular needs and learning style. I recommend a combination of private and group lessons for even better understanding and mastery of Tango dancing.
You do not need a partner to take private or group classes. One of the most important aspects of Argentine Tango is to learn to "really" lead and follow.
Supervised practice is also key, going to "milongas" or dance parties is necessary ,but practice time is what gets you there. There are a lot of forms of practice without a partner. These and other useful tools are taught in my group lessons and specific suggestions are given in private classes.
My goal is to get you dancing soon, but dancing well!

Save your feet, are you stepping correctly?
Avoid pain and injury
Dancing and shoes
I have bought and discarded so many tango shoes through the years, if I had known then what I know now, I could have saved a lot of money and a lot of pain. Band aids were standard equipment for me back then., together with Johnson's powder and foot massagers.
Today I do not need any of those things, of course through the years my feet have gotten a lot stronger ,my technique in stepping has changed and improved plus most importantly I have found the shoes that fit!
We must first start by learning the "right" way of stepping both men and women must study and practice the correct way to transfer weight as you dance, not only to protect your feet but your knees, hips, etc. from permanent injury. The right shoe fit will help in that endeavor. When we think of tango shoes we only envision the ladies' shoes, the men's shoes with the right fit are equally important. I find that in a lot of cases some of my students men/ and women struggle with balance and stability simply because of the shoes they are wearing.
Not all feet are created equal , so a brand that fits you well might not fit somebody else. I personally fit very well into Comme Il Fauts and MrTango/Jorge Nel Designs, at this point they are the only brand I wear. So, do your shoes really fit?
